The youngster hails from a typical middle-class family. Abdul Samad Farooq father Farooq is a physical-education teacher in a government school in Jammu. Samad’s mother is a housewife.

He made his List A debut on 27th of September 2019, for Jammu & Kashmir in the 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
He had his first-class debut on 9th of December 2019, for Jammu & Kashmir in the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy.
