Will Pucovski Biography:
William Jan Pucovski is a famous Australian cricketer born on 2nd February 1998. Pucovski made his List A debut for Cricket Australia XI against Pakistan on 10th January 2017 and his first-class debut for Victoria during the 2016-17 Sheffield Shield season on 1st February 2017.
William made his international debut for the Australia cricket team on 7th January 2021 in the third Test match of the series against India.
In his early life, Pucovski attended Brighton Grammar School and was awarded the Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year by Cricket Australia in 2019. His father, Ján Pucovski, had Czechoslovakian roots and emigrated to Australia from Serbia. Ján also played cricket and was highly regarded in the local cricket community.
During his cricket career, Pucovski showed exceptional talent, including scoring four consecutive hundreds in the 2016-17 Under 19 National Championships, breaking a long-standing runs record in the process. But, Pucovski faced challenges, including suffering from multiple concussions and taking a break from cricket in 2018 due to mental health-related issues.
Despite the setbacks, Pucovski continued to excel in domestic cricket, setting new partnership records in the Sheffield Shield and scoring consecutive double-hundreds. He was named in Australia’s Test squad for various series but faced injuries and concussions that affected his playing time.
Pucovski made his Test debut against India in January 2021, scoring 62 runs in his maiden innings. Unfortunately, Pucovski suffered a shoulder injury during the same match, which required surgery and a six-month recovery period.
Pucovski cricket journey faced challenges as he suffered another concussion in February 2022, bringing the total number of concussions in his career to eleven.
