BTaniya Bhatia is the daughter of Sanjay Bhatia and Sapna Singh and was born on 28th November 1997 in Chandigarh, Punjab. Taniya’s father works at the Central Bank of India, and she has an elder sister named Sanjana and a younger brother named Sehaj. Taniya completed her schooling at DAV Senior Secondary School and pursued her BA-II at Meherchand Mahajan DAV College for Women.
Taniya made her debut for India in Women’s One Day International (WODI) against England on 22nd February 2019 and her Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) debut against England on 4th March 2019.
Taniya cricket journey started at a young age, and she achieved many milestones early in her career, including becoming the youngest player to represent Punjab’s under-19 and senior teams at the ages of 11 and 13, respectively. Taniya received her formal training from Yograj Singh, father of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, during her time at DAV Senior Secondary School.
Taniya’s father and uncle both have a cricketing background, and her brother Sehaj also plays cricket at the under-19 level.
