Sarfaraz Khan Family:
Sarfaraz Naushad Khan is an Indian cricketer who represents the Indian national cricket team in Test cricket. Sarfaraz Khan was born on October 22, 1997 in Mumbai and spent most of his childhood in Azad Maidan training under his father and coach Naushad Khan.
Sarfaraz Khan originally to Sagadi Taluka of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Sarfaraz Khan’s mother Tabassum Khan is a housewife and his wife Romana Zahoor, a resident of Pashpora village in Kashmir has completed her MSc from Delhi. Sarfaraz’s In-laws belong to Kashmir.
His father discovered his talent of timing the ball well and began his coaching at an early stage due to which he was unable to attend school for 4 years and was appointed private tuition for some subjects like Mathematics and English.
Sarfaraz Khan broke Sachin Tendulkar’s Harris Shield Record while playing for his school Rizvi Springfield and became a center of attention. He made his IPL debut for the IPL team RCB in the year 2015 and was the youngest player, to play an IPL match.
Naushad Khan: Sarfaraz Khan’s Father
Naushad Khan is an erstwhile cricketer who played for the Mumbai team in India’s domestic cricket circuit. Naushad was born in the year 1971 and is a left-handed batsman and left-handed orthodox spin bowler. Naushad had a dream to represent India internationally in cricket but could not achieve that dream and hence focused on coaching his own sons to achieve the same.
After his retirement, Naushad Khan took up the task of coaching young cricketers. Naushad Khan chose Azad Maidan as his training hub in Mumbai.
Naushad Khan had produced and nurtured many great players including the former Kolkata Knight Riders player Iqbal Abdullah the rising star of IPL 2011 and former IPL player Kamran Khan, who bowled the first-ever Super Over in the tournament alongside Sri Lankan spinner Ajantha Mendis, was also trained by Naushad Khan.
Naushad Khan is the father of Sarfaraz and Musheer Khan. Sarfaraz Khan, the elder son has been a important part of India’s domestic cricket history in recent times.
To both of the Khan brothers, Musheer and Sarfaraz, Naushad Khan is a loving father and also a coach. It was his intuition which picked up Sarfaraz Khan’s talent in cricket and allowed him to begin training at a very tender and early age of his life.
On February 15, 2024 Naushad Khan was spotted witnessing his Elder Son making his international debut and deserving the Indian jersey. It was an emotional moment for Naushad Khan whose dream was achieved before his very eyes. Sarfaraz Khan was seen running to his father and wife soon after receiving his Test Cap from Anil Kumble and hugged them leaving an emotional moment.
Naushad Khan also made a debut on the same day in the commentary box after a special invite by the former Indian Cricketer Akash Chopra.
Musheer Khan: Sarfaraz Khan’s Brother
Musheer Naushad Khan is an Indian cricketer born on February 27, 2005 in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Currently, Musheer Khan plays for Mumbai and is a Right-handed batsman all-rounder.
Musheer made his first-class cricket debut for Mumbai in the 2022–23 Ranji Trophy. Musheer Khan represented the 2024 U-19 Cricket World Cup as a member of the Indian U-19 cricket team and was selected for the 2024 ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup squad in December 2023, for the Indian U-19 youth team.
Just like his brother Sarfaraz khan, Musheer spent most of his childhood in Azad Maidan with his father Naushad Khan acting as his coach.
Like his father, Musheer Khan is an all-rounder who bowls the slow left-arm orthodox spin bowling. Musheer Khan became the only player to hit two or more centuries in the U-19 World Cup after Shikhar Dhawan. Musheer Khan ended the tournament with 360 runs from 7 matches.
Sarfaraz Khan’s Wife: Romana Zahoor
Romana Zahoor is the wife of Sarfaraz Khan and belongs to the Shopian District of Kashmir. Romana is a friend of Sarfaraz’s Cousin and is a B.Sc. Student from Delhi. Sarfaraz Khan got married to Romana Zahoor on August 06, 2023 in Jammu and Kashmir.
The couple first met after Romana accompanied Sarfaraz’s cousin to watch one of his match. Later, Romana’s family came forward with a marriage proposal to Sarfaraz’s family and eventually both the families mutually agreed and the couple tied the knot with their blessings on August 6, 2023.
On his international debut, Romana was seen in tears as Sarfaraz was presented his debut cap by Anil Kumble and her tears were wiped off by her husband. She was also seen cheering and clapping during his match.
