Who is Noor Ahmed?
Noor Lakanwal Ahmad is an Afghan Cricketer who plays for Afghanistan National cricket team as a Bowler.
In addition, he is also playing for the Kabul team in domestic cricket as a bowler.
Noor is the youngest cricketer in Afghanistan who made his international debut only at the age of 16. He is considered one of the emerging players of the Afghanistan national team.
Noor Ahmad Biography:
Noor Ahmad was born on the 3rd of January 2005 in Herat, the city of Afghanistan. Noor had a great desire to play cricket since childhood, he started playing cricket at a very early age, Noor wanted to be an eminent international Afghan cricketer since childhood, for which he he was willing to work hard. Seeing his interest in cricket, his family enrolled him in the Cricket Academy, where he further developed his bowling skills.
It was in the year 2018 that the first revolving point of Noor’s career arrived.
He pariticipated in an open selection trial in Kabul which was organised by the Afghanistan Cricket Board to pick U-19 talent.
Former Afghanistan batter Raees Ahmadzai, who was the head of the board’s Under-19 wing and was a coach realized Noor was a bowler that could gain attention worldwide. In his remark Ahmadzai says. “The way he bowled, the way he showed confidence in what he did, he impressed me.
In the year 2019, when he was just 14, he was considered for the IPL auction for the very first time.
Two years later, the day he turned 16, he played his second game in his debut BBL season, in which he represented Melbourne Renegades.
It was his very first time bowling experience in such a big stage, against some of the most damaging batters around, including Liam Livingstone.
However, the Renegades lost that game to the Perth Scorchers.
At the mega auction forward of the 2022 IPL, Titans picked Noor up for his base price, Rs 30 lakhs. It was an memorable day for Noor, who had grown up watching the IPL.
Noor didn’t play last year, and got his first IPL match, against Royals, a couple of weeks ago, when he was brought in as an impact player. The Royals needed 77 from 36 deliveries. Sanju Samson clouted the fourth ball of the over, for a six. The next ball, a leg-break well outside leg stump, was fortunately dismissed for an easy four past short fine leg.
