CSK squad in IPL 2024
As the IPL 2024 approaches, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have unveiled their Players List for the 2024 season. With a focus on retaining top performers from their triumphant 2023 campaign, CSK wants to maintain their winning momentum as they pursue their sixth title.
The CSK Retained Players List 2024 reflects the franchise’s commitment to continuity and excellence, while the Chennai Super Kings Released Players List 2024 shows strategic decisions aimed at refreshing and strengthening the squad.
With a formidable IPL Budget of Rs 100 crores, CSK entered the auction arena with a huge purse of Rs 20.45 crores, poised to secure key additions to their roster. This financial strength positions the team well to pursue targeted acquisitions and bolster their lineup for the upcoming season.
In a bid to improve their batting lineup, Chennai Super Kings had made huge acquisitions during the IPL 2024 auction held in Dubai. CSK secured the services of New Zealand batsmen Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra, enhancing their batting depth for the upcoming season.
CSK splurged a huge sum of Rs 14 crore to procure Daryl Mitchell, while their second most expensive player came in the form of Sameer Rizvi, an uncapped Indian player, who was bought at a staggering Rs 8.40 crore.
With a remaining purse of just Rs 1 crore and a squad already have notable players such as MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK strategically invested in key players to address their batting requirements.
The auction saw CSK making notable additions to their squad, with players like Rachin Ravindra, Shardul Thakur, Mustafizur Rahman, and Avanish Rao Aravelly joining the franchise.
Meanwhile, the team released several players, including Ben Stokes, Kyle Jamieson, and Ambati Rayudu, as part of their restructuring process.
