Akash Deep Early Life:
Akash Deep belongs to Sasaram in Bihar. Akash decided to become a cricketer after watching India’s victory in the T20 World Cup in 2007. But, he was opposed by his family and neighbors for this choice of his. His father advised him to appear for the Bihar police constable’s exams or for a Government’s staff job. But, Akash eventually followed his ambition and started his career as a batsman, and by 2015 became a medium-fast bowler.
Akash Deep started playing professional cricket and in 2016 represented the United Club in the CAB First Division league in 2010 and Mohun Bagan Athletic Club. Akash found support of his Uncle and a close friend in Durgapur regarding his passion for Cricket. Eventually, Akash Deep started playing tennis-ball matches and earned Rs 600 daily and Rs 20,000 monthly. Akash Deep also worked for the India’s Vision 2020 program and furthermore got selected for the Bengal U-23 cricket team.
Unfortunately, Akash Deep had to pause his career for 3 years after a tragedy in his family. His father had a stroke, and his older brother passed away after 2 months. Akash became the sole earner for his family and took care of them. Akash Deep returned to Durgapur after 3 years and moved to Kolkata, rented a small room and lived with his cousin, once again following his passion for cricket.
Akash Deep Family:
Akash Deep’s father Ramji Singh was a government school teacher in Sasaram, who died of a heart attack in 2015. His mother’s name is Ladduma Devi.
He had an older brother who passed away in the 2 months after his father’s demise. This tragedy left Akash as the sole earner in the family which then comprised of his mother as well as two sisters. One of Akash’s older Sister currently resides in Delhi.
Akash Deep Career:
Domestic Career: Akash Deep got into the limelight first on March 9, 2019 when he made his Twenty20 debut for Bengal against Maharashtra in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Akash took 2 wickets for 21 runs in four overs in the match. Additionally Akash Deep has played 41 T20 domestic matches so far.
Akash Deep made his List A debut on September 24, 2019 for Bengal against Gujarat in the 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Akash took 2 wickets at an economy rate of 4.90 in the match. Additionally, he has played 28 List A matches so far in his career.
Akash made his First-class debut on December 25, 2019 for Bengal in the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy against Andhra Pradesh. Akash took three wickets in the match. Additionally, he has taken more than 100 wickets in the 30 first class matches played by him yet.
Akash had also taken 11 wickets, in 2 tour matches for India A against England Lions before he was called up for Test cricket. Before his IPL debut, Akash Deep was a Net bowler for the Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL squad.

On 30 August 2021, Akash Deep was included in the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad for the Indian Premiere League second phase on August 30, 2021 held in the UAE.
Akash Deep was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 20 lakh in the IPL auction 2022.
Akash Deep made his IPL debut on March 27, 2022 for RCB against Punjab Kings and successfully took the wicket of Liam Livingstone as his first IPL wicket. Akash played five matches and took 5 wickets at an economy rate of 10.88.
RCB retained him for IPL 2023 where he played 2 matches and took 1 wicket. The Royal Challengers Bangalore has retained Akash Deep for Indian Premiere League 2024 as well for an auction price of Rs 20 Lakhs.
Akash Deep International Cricket:
Akash Deep was selected in the Indian Squad for the 2022 Asian Games as a replacement for Shivam Mavi who had been injured. Subsequently, Akash got selected for India’s ODI squad for the series against South Africa, but didn’t get any chances to play.
Akash Deep made his International Debut on February 23, 2024 where he showed his skills. He played for India in the 4th test match of the series against England. Akash took three important wickets of England for 70 runs in his turn. Akash Deep took the wickets of Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope successively and thus breaking England’s top batting order.
