Tamim Iqbal was part of Cricket World Cup 2023 as the captain of the Bangladesh cricket team. The 10-team mega event was held in India from October 5 to November 19.
Tamim had initially announced his retirement from all forms of the game, but he later changed his mind after a meeting with Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina, who personally requested him to continue playing.
At present, Tamim Iqbal holds the position of the skipper in the Bangladesh ODI team. Born on March 20, 1989, Tamim is a renowned cricketer representing Bangladesh at the international level. Recently, he celebrated his 32nd birthday.
Tamim has an good record in ODIs, having played 207 matches and scoring 7,202 runs at an average of 36.74. He stands as the leading run-scorer in ODIs for Bangladesh, with 13 centuries and 47 fifties to his name. His highest score in ODIs is 158.

Tamim Iqbal’s wife is Ayesha Siddiqui. They got married in 2013 and has two children together. Their love story goes back to when they were very young, and Tamim sent a friendship request to Ayesha, who initially rejected it but later they became close and got married.
In June 2013, Tamim tied the knot with Ayesha Siddiqui in a grand ceremony held in Chittagong.
Tamim and Ayesha have been blessed with two children, a son named Mohammad Arham Iqbal, born in February 2016, and a daughter named Alishaba Iqbal Khan, born in November 2019. Their second child, a daughter was named Alishaba Iqbal Khan.
