South Africa’s middle-order batsman, Temba Bavuma got married to his fiancée Phila Lobi in a private ceremony held in Franschhoek region of South Africa’s Western Cape province in 2018.
The intimate wedding was attended by many Proteas players, including Kagiso Rabada and Andile Phehlukwayo.

Former Lions and Titans coach Dave Nosworthy was also present and shared a photo on Twitter, showing Bavuma in a white suit and Phila in a traditional white dress. Bavuma later expressed his gratitude on Instagram, thanking everyone involved in making the occasion special.
With 31 Tests and 2 ODIs under his belt, right-handed Bavuma has scored two international centuries, one in each format. His Test average stands at 33.81, while his 50-over format average is an impressive 80.50. Bavuma has expressed his ambition to fill the void left by AB de Villiers, who retired from cricket. Bavuma aims to secure a place in South Africa’s squad for the next year’s World Cup in England.
Earlier in 2018, Bavuma made a decision to return to the Johannesburg-based Highveld Lions team. While some speculated it was a strategic move to improve his chances of being selected for the ODI team in 2023 World Cup, Bavuma clarified that he made the decision due to his fiancée’s preference to reside in Johannesburg.
Bavuma stated that it would have been challenging for him to continue playing in Cape Town, but emphasized that there are no ill feelings between him and the Cape Cobras team.
