Indian cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy recently got married to her partner and Karnataka First Class player Arjun Hoysala in a quiet court ceremony in Bengaluru.

The wedding was on January 12, 2023 which holds huge importance for Krishnamurthy as it marks her late mother’s birth anniversary. By choosing this date, Veda wanted to honor her mother’s memory and include her in the new chapter of her life.

The 30-year-old cricketer shared her decision to marry on this particular date during an episode of WV Raman’s weekly show on Sportstar, Wednesdays with WV. Although January is considered inauspicious for many ceremonies, Krishnamurthy wanted this date to be special and cherished forever. In the future, Veda plans to celebrate their wedding anniversary on this day.

Sadly, Krishnamurthy faced a devastating loss when her mother, Cheluvamaba Devi, passed away at the age of 67 due to COVID-19-related complications in 2021. Tragically, her sister Vatsala Shivakumar also succumbed to the pandemic just 2 weeks later.

Veda Krishnamurthy and Arjun Hoysala had previously announced their engagement in September 2022. Now, they start on their journey together, sharing a meaningful connection with her late mother’s birthday as they start this new phase in their lives.
